A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer.
Sunday 26 February at 11am, Higher Ground Light Sqaure.
Local and international artists have donated their time and talent to collaborate to present a groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle. These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.
A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer is a follow up to The Vagina Monologues and includes topics as diverse as the bra, reclaiming our Mojo, being a single parent and S&M. There are pieces by and for men and men are especially welcome to attend.
The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about violence against women and girls as well as raise money for V-Day a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.
